To configure your EMV reader to your uAccept POS, see Configuring your EMV Reader to your POS

While you have the option to set up a DHCP IP address, we highly recommend setting the IP address on your EMV terminal to a static IP.

Setting up a Static IP Address (Preferred)

If you are configuring your EMV reader to use a static IP address, please have an IP address prepared that is not already in use. For additional assistance with obtaining a static IP, please contact uAccept Customer and Technical Support or your IT Consultant.

Note: The EMV reader must be on the same network as the uAccept POS.

To set a static IP address when connected via Ethernet, follow these steps:

1. Press OK [O] on the keypad.

2. Press Utility on the touch screen.

3. Enter the password (1234 default) and press OK [O] on the keypad.

4. Press Communications on the touch screen.

5. Press Local Parms. on the touch screen.

6. Press Ethernet on the touch screen.

7. Press Mode.

8. Select Static.

By default, DHCP is selected.

9. When prompted to change Ethernet mode from DHCP to Static, press Yes.

10. On a PC, run IPConfig/all from the Command Prompt (on a Mac, click Network from System Preferences) and note the following for the next steps:

  • Subnet mask
  • Gateway
  • DNS

For additional assistance, please contact uAccept Customer and Technical Support or your IT Consultant for instructions on how to obtain the Subnet mask, Gateway, DNS1, and DNS2.

11. Press Static Parms.

12. Press IP and enter the desired IP address in the correct format*, then press OK [O] on the keypad. Be sure to use an IP not already in use.

13. Press Netmask and enter the Subnet mask in the correct format*, then press OK [O] on the keypad – use the Subnet mask found in step 10.

14. Press Gateway and enter the gateway in the correct format*, then press OK [O] on the keypad – use the gateway found in step 10.

15. Select DNS1 and enter the DNS in the correct format*, then press OK [O] on the keypad – use the DNS1 found in step 10.

16. Select DNS2 and enter the DNS in the correct format*, then press OK [O] on the keypad – use the DNS2 found in step 10.

*Note: Each value above is made up of four sets of numbers separated by a period. Each set of numbers must consist of 3 digits. If one or more of your sets is only one or two digits, you must add preceding zeros when configuring the EMV terminal. For example, if your address is 123.12.1.1, then you would input it as 123.012.001.001.

17. Press X [X] until you are brought to the home screen.

From the terminal home screen, the connection message will read "POS Online".

Use the assigned IP Address (DHCP)

Note: The EMV reader must be on the same network as the uAccept POS.

Please contact your IT Consultant for instructions on reserving a DHCP address.

When connecting your EMV terminal via LAN, the terminal will automatically configure to a DHCP network. Be sure to confirm that your EMV reader is configured to DHCP.
